It was no way to live for a little girl who loved food as much as we did. Feb 2020) Here’s the thing about this dip. It’s not my favorite standalone dip. It’s a little sweet for me. The combination of squash and tahini is very nice, but it’s a little mellow. The thing is, though, it fits so perfectly into a lineup of other bolder, lighter, saltier, spicier dips at a large gathering. You know, your firey roasted salsas, salty buttermilk ranches, garlic toums, buffalo chicken dips, or whatever salty glutamate/gut bombs you decide put out. We only used the perfectly sized pieces in between. It was not my favorite prep task. Is it worth the extra mile? Depends on how much you love the person you’re serving. Tangentially related additional fun fact: For a while, we made raspberry jam for our pbj sandwiches. The recipe called for cooking down raspberries until soft, straining out all the seeds, and adding back exactly 50% for the optimal amount of seed texture.
